Dibang Hydel Project Achieves Key Breakthrough in Arunachal Pradesh

• The under-construction 2,880-MW Dibang hydel project in Arunachal Pradesh achieved a significant milestone.
• A diversion tunnel (DT-3) was successfully daylighted, marked by a final blast initiated by NHPC Director (Projects) Sanjay Kumar Singh.
• This achievement is crucial for advancing construction and ensuring smooth river diversion works for the project.
• Developed by NHPC on the Dibang river, the project will have an installed capacity of 2,880 MW through 12 units.
• Once completed, it will generate over 11,000 million units of electricity annually and help regulate floods in the Brahmaputra basin.
