DMK Youth Wing Functionary Arrested in Toddler Rape-Murder Case in Krishnagiri

•Periyanayagam, a DMK youth wing functionary, arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault and murder of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl in Krishnagiri.
•Autopsy report confirmed the child died due to severe internal injuries from aggravated sexual assault.
•Incident dates back to December 11 last year; child was initially brought to a hospital with claims of seizures.
•Investigation revealed Periyanayagam, in a relationship with the child's mother, allegedly assaulted the child while the mother was away.
•Accused remanded to custody at Dharmapuri sub-jail under POCSO Act and murder charges.
