DRI busts Rs 47 Cr Alprazolam facility in Andhra, arrests masterminds

•DRI's 'Operation White Hammer' busted an illicit synthetic drugs facility in Kondapalli, NTR District, Andhra Pradesh.
•Seized 237 kg of Alprazolam worth Rs 47 crore, along with 800 kg raw materials and 2,860 litres of chemicals.
•The facility, operating under the guise of a chemical manufacturing unit, was an organised, large-scale clandestine operation.
•A chemist with 20 years experience and an associate, who arranged raw materials and distribution in Hyderabad, were arrested.
•DRI has dismantled eight such clandestine drug manufacturing units this financial year through intelligence-based operations.
