Ex-President Rajapaksa Accused of LKR 60 Million Bribe in Airbus Deal
•
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa allegedly received LKR 60 million bribe in the 2017 Airbus case.
•
Kapila Chandrasena, former CEO of the national carrier and chief accused, made the claim in a Sri Lankan court.
•
Chandrasena stated Rajapaksa received LKR 20 million on three occasions in 2015 at his country homes.
•
Former Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayarathna was also implicated in receiving a share of the bribe.
•
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) revived the case under new 2024 anti-corruption laws.
