GeM Transactions Dip 7.4% to Rs 5.03 Lakh Crore in 2025-26

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) facilitated transactions worth Rs 5.03 lakh crore in 2025-26, a 7.4% decrease from the previous fiscal.
•
The decline is primarily due to a reduced contribution from the coal ministry, whose share fell from 34% to 20% (Rs 1,02,219 crore).
•
Coal India Ltd purchased goods and services worth Rs 82,285 crore through GeM in 2025-26.
•
GeM achieved a cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of Rs 18.4 lakh crore, crossing Rs 5 lakh crore GMV in 2025-26.
•
New functionalities like multi-currency bidding, global tender enquiry (GTE), and participation from international sellers have been added.
