Giriraj Singh: FTAs Offer $465 Bn Market, Textile Sector Can Capture $200 Bn

•Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh urged the domestic industry to tap USD 200 billion in export opportunities from the USD 465 billion market access via FTAs.
•India has finalised nine FTAs with countries including Australia, UK, New Zealand, Oman, UAE, and the EU.
•Bharat Tex 2026, starting July 14 at Bharat Mandapam, will serve as a global platform for the entire textile value chain.
•The minister emphasized promoting manufacturing of textile machines, an area where India is currently weak.
•India aims to become a global hub for natural fibres, noting a rise in linen imports to 60,000 tonne.
