•Soundarradjane S, CEO of HyFarm Foods, notes UP potatoes' dry matter content has risen from 17% to 19-20% in 4-5 years, crucial for quality French fries.
•HyFarm aims to increase potato procurement from 4 lakh tonnes to 10 lakh tonnes by 2028, expanding into Madhya Pradesh (2028) and Uttar Pradesh (2030).
•The company uses a 'seed-to-shelf' model, producing 90-95% of its own seed, distributing 1 lakh tonnes, and serving major chains like Burger King, KFC, and McDonald's.
