India, Chile Advance FTA Talks: Boosting Trade and Critical Mineral Access

India and Chile discussed progress on their proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.

Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal met Chile’s Vice-Minister Paula Estevez Weinstein during the WTO ministerial conference.
•
The comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) aims to expand beyond the existing preferential trade agreement (PTA).
•
CEPA will cover digital services, investment, MSMEs, and critical minerals, crucial for India's electronics, auto, and solar sectors.
•
Bilateral trade in 2024-25 saw India's exports to Chile at USD 1.15 billion and imports from Chile at USD 2.60 billion.
