Indian Railways Freight Loading Jumps Nearly 4% in Feb 2026: Ministry

Indian Railways recorded 137.72 million tonnes of freight loading in February 2026, a 3.96% increase year-on-year.

Freight revenue for the month rose by 2.97% to Rs 14,571.99 crore compared to February 2025.

Net Tonne Kilometres (NTKM), a key freight movement indicator, grew by 4.18% to 76,007 million NTKM.

Core sector commodities like coal, iron ore, finished steel, and fertilisers significantly contributed to the growth.
