Jharkhand: Elephant Squad Vehicle Collides with Truck, 2 Killed, 10 Injured

Two members of an elephant driving squad were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision with a truck in Hazaribag, Jharkhand.
•
The accident occurred near Purnapani village on NH-20 in the Charhi police station area on Saturday night.
•
The 12-member squad, mostly from West Bengal’s Bankura district, was searching for a herd of five elephants responsible for seven deaths on Friday.
•
Deceased identified as Pintu Modi (30) from Bankura and Shahadat Hussain (60) from Charhi, Hazaribag.
•
One injured person was referred to RIMS-Ranchi, while nine are being treated at Sadar Hospital in Hazaribag.
