Kerala to acquire 230 acres for Vizhinjam port development; Rs 810 Cr allocated

•Kerala government to acquire 230 acres of land for Vizhinjam International Seaport development.
•The acquisition, costing around Rs 810 crore, was approved by the cabinet chaired by CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
•Land will be acquired in Kottukal, Maranallur, and Amaravila under the LARR Act, 2013.
•Funding includes Rs 283.68 crore from Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL)'s PSTSB account and the rest from a NABARD loan.
•Cabinet also approved a policy for the safety and rehabilitation of street children, following a 2022 Supreme Court order.
