Kerala to acquire 230 acres for Vizhinjam port development; Rs 810 Cr allocated
•
Kerala government to acquire 230 acres of land for Vizhinjam International Seaport development.
•
The acquisition, costing around Rs 810 crore, was approved by the cabinet chaired by CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
•
Land will be acquired in Kottukal, Maranallur, and Amaravila under the LARR Act, 2013.
•
Funding includes Rs 283.68 crore from Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL)'s PSTSB account and the rest from a NABARD loan.
•
Cabinet also approved a policy for the safety and rehabilitation of street children, following a 2022 Supreme Court order.
