Kuno National Park Welcomes 3 New Cheetah Cubs, Population Rises to 38

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav announced the birth of three cubs to South African cheetah Gamini at Kuno National Park.
•
This marks Gamini's second litter, coinciding with the third anniversary of South African cheetahs' arrival in India.
•
The new additions bring the total number of surviving Indian-born cheetah cubs to 27.
•
India's total cheetah population has now reached 38, reflecting the success of Project Cheetah.
•
Project Cheetah, launched in 2022, is the world's first intercontinental cheetah translocation project aimed at reintroducing the species to India.
