•India's Project Cheetah enters a decisive new phase with the arrival of 9 cheetahs from Botswana at Kuno National Park.
•The 6 females and 3 males were flown from Botswana to Gwalior via an Indian Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, then airlifted to Kuno.
•Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav oversaw their release into specially prepared quarantine enclosures.
•This addition significantly boosts India's cheetah population, enhancing genetic diversity and following earlier arrivals from Namibia and South Africa.
•Kuno National Park was chosen for its suitable grassland habitats and prey availability, with the new cheetahs undergoing a quarantine period for acclimatization.
