Odisha's Matikhala Village Goes Solar: Half Households Adopt Rooftop Panels

Matikhala village in Ganjam district, Odisha, is now solar-powered under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Approximately 200 out of 450 households have installed 1 kW rooftop solar systems.
•
The project was inaugurated by Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan and Chhatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak.
•
Beneficiaries contribute Rs 5,622, with financial support from the Ganjam district administration.
•
TPSODL handles execution, offering a five-year warranty on components and 25 years on solar panels.
