PM-PRANAM Scheme: No Incentives Disbursed Yet, Nadda Informs Parliament

• Fertilisers Minister J P Nadda stated that no incentives have been disbursed under the PM-PRANAM scheme since its launch.
• PM-PRANAM was launched following the Budget 2023 announcement and Cabinet approval in June 2023.
• The scheme aims to reduce chemical fertiliser use in Indian agriculture over a three-year period (FY 2023-24 to FY 2025-26).
• States and UTs are eligible for incentives if they reduce chemical fertiliser consumption compared to the average of the previous three years.
• The incentive is 50% of the fertiliser subsidy saved, with 95% allocated to states (65% for capital expenditure, 30% untied) and 5% retained by the Centre.
