Punjab Police Sub-Inspector Arrested for Rs 50,000 Bribe

•Punjab Police sub-inspector Mewa Singh arrested for allegedly accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe.
•Singh, posted at the cyber cell in Sangrur, was the investigating officer in a case against the complainant and his wife.
•The complainant alleged Singh demanded the bribe to secure his wife’s discharge from the case.
•The state vigilance bureau laid a trap and caught Singh red-handed.
•A case has been registered against Singh under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
