Rape-accused 'godman' Kharat sent to judicial custody till April 14

• Self-styled godman Ashok Kharat remanded in 14-day judicial custody by a Nashik court.
• Kharat was arrested on March 18 after a 35-year-old woman accused him of repeated rape over three years.
• Multiple rape complaints and at least 10 FIRs, including eight for sexual assault, registered against him.
• SIT is investigating Kharat; his son Harshvardhan was detained for questioning and later released.
• Investigators are also tracing Kharat’s wife Kalpana, named in a cheating case; a remote-controlled snake was seized from his office.
