Sustainable Castor Seed Production Soars to 1.70 Lakh Tons in India

• Project Pragati and i-Pragati initiatives, led by Jayant Agro-Organics Limited, Arkema, BASF, and Solidaridad, have achieved a significant milestone in sustainable castor cultivation.
• Over 13,500 farmers across more than 16,000 hectares are now certified under the SuCCESS® sustainability code, cumulatively producing 170,000 tons of certified castor seeds.
• Farmers reported 32% higher yields and 30% lower water consumption, demonstrating the profitability and climate resilience of sustainable castor farming.
• The program focuses on agronomic excellence, social safeguards, and women's empowerment, with over 1,150 women receiving training in agricultural practices and digital/financial literacy.
• These initiatives reinforce India's global leadership in sustainable castor production, ensuring a reliable and responsibly sourced supply for global specialty chemical markets.
