India's First All-Women E-Bus Driver Program Completes Training for 20 Recruits
•India’s first all-women e-bus driver training program concluded with 20 recruits from Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) completing a two-week course.
•The training took place at EKA Mobility’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, supported by Travel Time and GIZ.
•The initiative aims to increase women’s participation in CRUT’s operational fleet and support Odisha’s electric public transport transition.
•Participants received practical driving sessions, technical modules on EV systems, and safety training, including regenerative braking and high-voltage safety.
•All 20 recruits are now ready to join CRUT’s electric bus fleet, with potential for expansion to other states to promote gender inclusion and electric mobility workforce growth.
