Amagi Faces Rs 2.06 Crore Tax Demand Over Alleged TDS Lapse; Company to Appeal
•
Adtech firm Amagi Media Labs Limited received a tax demand of Rs 2.06 crore from the Income Tax Department.
•
The demand is related to alleged non-compliance with Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on payments made to non-residents.
•
The order, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Bengaluru, includes Rs 1.12 crore tax liability and Rs 94.29 lakh interest.
•
Amagi is deemed an “assessee in default” for FY 2019–20, with payments to non-residents classified as “fees for technical services” subject to TDS.
•
Amagi plans to appeal the order, stating the financial impact is limited to the demand amount and operations remain unaffected.
