Unlisted Indian Firms Outpace Listed Peers in Women Board Representation: Hurun Report
•A Hurun India report reveals unlisted Indian companies often have stronger gender diversity on boards than many publicly traded firms.
•Indo Autotech leads with nearly 44% women on its board, followed by Saj Food Products (67%) and Leeford Healthcare (50%).
•While regulatory reforms boosted women's participation in listed firms (21% of board seats), a large share still has only one woman director.
•Approximately 1.16 million women hold director roles across all company types, with over 46,000 in unlisted public firms.
•Women hold significantly fewer executive and CEO roles compared to board seats, with non-promoter women directors holding only about 7% of total board seats in some datasets.
