India's Unemployment Rate Drops to 4.9% in Feb, Beats Estimates

India's unemployment rate eased to 4.9% in February, down from 5% in January, surpassing market expectations.
•
The decline was primarily driven by reduced joblessness in urban areas and improved employment indicators for women.
•
Urban unemployment for those aged 15 and above fell to 6.6% in February from 7% in January.
•
Overall female unemployment decreased to 5.1%, with urban female unemployment seeing a sharper fall to 8.7%.
•
Female Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) rose to 35.3%, supported by stronger participation in rural regions.
