•A domestic worker, Saroj, hired by the Paruthi family in Jakkasandra, Bengaluru, fled with gold and cash worth Rs 23 lakh.
•The theft occurred within 10 days of her employment, on March 1st, while the family was out for dinner.
•Saroj allegedly found the locker key, stealing approximately 80 grams of gold jewelry (Rs 20 lakh) and Rs 3 lakh in cash.
•She was recommended by Ranjith, a former cook, and was originally from Bihar.
•Koramangala police registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), urging strict background verification for domestic workers.
