Bengaluru Ring Road Project: Rs 3,348-Crore First Package Opens For Bids After Delays
•Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) invites tenders for the first package of the Bangalore Business Corridor (BBC), also known as the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR), at an estimated cost of Rs 3,348 crore.
•The tender, floated on March 30, covers a nearly 20-km stretch from Tumakuru Road to Ballari Road, marking a significant step for the project stalled since 2007.
•The package will be executed under the Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) model, with a 36-month construction timeline and 10 years of operation and maintenance.
•The broader project, estimated at Rs 27,000 crore, is funded by BDA through a HUDCO loan, with Rs 21,000 crore earmarked for land acquisition.
•Project cost escalated due to design changes, delays, and expanded right of way from 50m to 65m, including three additional service road lanes and structural improvements.
