Delhi to Transform Bhalswa Landfill into ISBT; Targets 7,500 EV Buses by 2026

•Delhi Transport Department plans an Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) on 20 acres of reclaimed Bhalswa landfill site.
•The new ISBT aims to significantly improve inter-state bus connectivity and passenger facilities in northern Delhi.
•A feasibility study will be conducted before the project, with the Bhalswa landfill reclamation targeted for completion by December 2026.
•Minister Pankaj Singh also directed assessments for a new DTC depot along UER-II and upgradation of the Burari depot.
•Delhi aims to expand its electric bus fleet to 7,500 by the end of 2026, currently operating over 4,000 EV buses.
