India's Unemployment Rate Drops in 2025: Govt Data Reveals Positive Trends
•
Unemployment among educated individuals (15+ years) declined to 6.5% in 2025 from 7.0% in 2024.
•
Youth unemployment (15-29 age group) decreased to 9.9% in 2025 from 10.3% in 2024.
•
Share of regular wage/salaried employment increased to 23.6% in 2025, while self-employment declined.
•
Agricultural employment fell to 43.0%, with manufacturing and other services seeing increased worker participation.
•
Average monthly earnings for men rose to ₹24,217 and for women to ₹18,353 in regular wage employment.
