BJP Unveils First List of 144 Candidates for West Bengal 2026 Polls; Adhikari to Face Mamata

•West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 to be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results on May 4.
•Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of 144 candidates for the upcoming polls on Tuesday.
•Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari will contest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur.
•Adhikari is also contesting from Nandigram, where he defeated Banerjee in the 2021 Assembly elections.
•The party expects to announce additional candidates in subsequent lists.
