India to Make World's Only Everest-Capable Helicopter: A Game Changer

• India will manufacture the H-125 helicopter, the only one capable of flying to Mount Everest's heights, following a meeting between PM Modi and French President Macron.
• The H125 Final Assembly Line (FAL) at Vemagal, Karnataka, is a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus, marking the first time a private Indian company will fully assemble and test helicopters in India.
• The first Indian-made H-125 is expected by early 2027, with the facility also producing the military variant, H-125M, which is stronger and can be fitted with weapons.
• The H-125 is a versatile light utility helicopter, known for its exceptional performance in high-altitude and hot conditions, making it ideal for India's northern borders.
