Rajkot Sizzles at 41.6°C; IMD Warns of Above-Normal Heat, Himalayan Rains

• Rajkot and Surendranagar recorded the highest temperature at 41.6°C on March 9.
• IMD forecasts above-normal daytime temperatures across northern and western India until mid-March.
• Temperatures 5-7°C above normal in Jammu-Kashmir & Himachal Pradesh; 4-6°C above normal in NW plains, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh.
• Western Himalayan region (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand) to experience rain, snowfall, thunderstorms, and hailstorms from March 11-16.
• A fresh Western Disturbance from March 14, 2026, to bring light rain to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP. Delhi to remain unusually warm.
