  • India firmly rejected China's construction activities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Shaksgam Valley, asserting it's Indian territory.
  • Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated India does not recognize the 1963 China-Pakistan 'Boundary Agreement' as illegal and invalid.
  • India also reiterated its non-recognition of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it passes through Indian territory under illegal Pakistani occupation.
  • The MEA emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India and has consistently protested to China against attempts to alter ground reality.
  • Reports indicate China is building a 75 km 'all-weather road' in Shaksgam Valley, a strategic location north of Siachen, with work ongoing.
