Taragiri Stealth Frigate with BrahMos to Join Indian Navy on March 14
•The Taragiri warship, capable of carrying BrahMos ship-to-ship missiles, will be commissioned into the Indian Navy on March 14.
•Built for stealth and symbolizing India’s self-reliance, Taragiri is the fourth ship of the Nilgiri class under Project 17A, constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL).
•It features a potent suite of weaponry including BrahMos, MFSTAR, MRSAM, a 76 mm SRGM, and advanced anti-submarine warfare technology.
•The frigate boasts a Combined Diesel or Gas (CODOG) propulsion plant and a state-of-the-art Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS).
•With 75% indigenization, its construction involved over 200 MSMEs, generating 4,000 direct and over 10,000 indirect jobs.
