Indian Navy to Commission 'Dolphin Hunter' INS Anjadip in Chennai
•Indian Navy to commission INS Anjadip, a 'Dolphin Hunter' anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft, on February 27 in Chennai.
•INS Anjadip is the third of eight vessels built under the anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft project by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata.
•The 77-meter ship features high-speed water-jet propulsion, reaching 25 knots, designed for detecting, tracking, and neutralizing enemy submarines in coastal areas.
•Equipped with indigenous ASW weapons and sensors, including hull-mounted sonar Abhay, Lightweight Torpedoes, and ASW Rockets.
•Named after an island off Karwar, INS Anjadip will enhance coastal surveillance, low-intensity maritime operations, and search and rescue capabilities.
