IRS Officer Sachin Mote Accused in Rs 2000 Crore Housing Scam, CM Orders Inquiry

• BJP leader Gopichand Padalkar alleges IRS officer Sachin Mote orchestrated a Rs 2000 crore scam through DDSR company, impacting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai home buyers.
• Mote is accused of luring investors with promises to double money in 9-18 months across 20 projects, using relatives' names and claiming influence over MLAs/MPs.
• Allegations include construction without Commencement Certificates, non-payment of royalties and GST, and involvement of CIDCO officials.
• Investors, including IPS and IRS officers, have their money stuck, with bookings from 2020 yet to see possession or even groundbreaking.
• Serious claims of blackmailing investors with obscene videos of women have also surfaced, prompting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to order a high-level inquiry.
