Ashok Leyland Shares Plunge 7% as March Sales Miss Projections

Ashok Leyland shares fell 7% from day's highs after March sales disappointed expectations.
•
Overall vehicle sales grew 5% to 25,381 units, below CNBC-TV18 poll's 15% growth projection of 27,750 units.
•
M&HCV truck sales rose 11% to 14,470 units, but bus sales dropped 24% to 3,048 units.
•
Growth in truck and LCV segments was lower than their three-month averages, and bus segment decline was significant.
•
Stock cooled off 30% from 52-week highs before today's pressure, trading 1.5% lower at ₹151.75.
