Coal India Q4 Update: FY26 Guidance Missed, Production Declines

Coal India reported a 1.5% year-on-year decline in coal production for March, reaching 84.50 million tonnes.

Offtake saw a slight increase of 0.7% to 69.5 million tonnes, indicating stable demand.
•
The company received a Letter of Award for a 750 MWh battery energy storage system project in Telangana, costing ₹1,057.09 crore.
•
Coal India plans to invest ₹3,300 crore in eight new coking coal washeries by FY2030 to enhance coal quality and reduce imports.
•
Shares of Coal India traded up 0.22% at ₹451.45 on the NSE after the announcement.
