India's Fertiliser Stock Hits Record 163 LMT; Govt Adds ₹19,000 Cr Subsidy

India's fertiliser stock surged 26% to a record 163 LMT, up from 128.54 LMT last year, announced FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

Government allocated an additional ₹19,000 crore for fertiliser subsidies, surpassing the original Budget Estimate.
•
The move ensures sufficient supply for Kharif and Rabi seasons, supporting farmers and the agricultural sector.
•
Domestic urea production rose from 225 LMT in 2014-15 to 306.67 LMT in 2024-25, reducing import dependence.
•
Six new units under the New Investment Policy and two plants in Odisha/Assam are boosting production capacity.
