Coal India Secures ₹1,057 Crore Battery Storage Project from Telangana GENCO

Coal India Ltd (CIL) received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Telangana Power Generation Corporation Ltd.
•
The project involves setting up a 750 MWh (187.5 MW for four hours) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant at Choutuppal.
•
Estimated project cost is ₹1,057.09 crore, to be executed within 18 months from BESPA signing.
•
CIL will supply power at a tariff of ₹3.14 lakh per MW per month.
•
This marks CIL's expansion into renewable and energy transition beyond coal mining.
