Air India's 'Scrap' Plane VT-ALL Returns to Sky After Miracle Restoration

Air India successfully reactivates its longest-grounded Boeing 777-300ER, VT-ALL, after four years.
•
The aircraft, grounded since February 2020 due to technical faults, was deemed scrap by many.
•
A major 'Operation Kayakalp' at AIESL's MRO center in Nagpur involved replacing over 3000 parts and 4000 maintenance tasks.
•
Engines, APU, fan cowl, thrust reverser, AC, landing gear, oxygen, and avionics systems were completely revamped.
•
VT-ALL received Airworthiness Review Certificate from DGCA and Boeing after successful test flights, confirming its safety.
