Agri, Live Animal Exports Lead RoDTEP Benefits; Exempted from Incentive Cuts

•Live animal and agricultural products show highest utilization of RoDTEP benefits, leading to their exemption from recent incentive cuts.
•Government capped RoDTEP benefits at 50% for most industries, but agriculture and allied sectors are excluded from this restriction.
•Agri and allied sectors received nearly one-third of total RoDTEP benefits disbursed in 2022-23, totaling Rs 13,020 crore.
•Live animal products accounted for Rs 1,291 crore (9.9%) and vegetable products Rs 2,172 crore (16.7%) of total benefits.
•RoDTEP, launched in 2021, reimburses exporters for non-refunded taxes, replacing MEIS to align with WTO norms.
