SEBI Slashes Minimum Investment in Social Impact Funds to Rs 1,000, Eases NPO Norms

SEBI reduces minimum investment for individuals in Social Impact Funds (SIFs) from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 1,000.
•
New rule applies if SIFs invest solely in NPO securities registered or listed on Social Stock Exchange (SSE).
•
Registration validity for NPOs on SSE extended from two to three years, without mandatory fundraising during this period.
•
Minimum subscription for Zero Coupon Zero Principal (ZCZP) issuances relaxed from 75% to 50% for per-unit projects.
•
Reforms aim to boost investor participation, streamline fundraising for social enterprises, and strengthen the SSE ecosystem.
