HDFC Bank Tightens Debit Card Lounge Access: New Rules from Jan 10
- •From January 10, complimentary airport lounge access will shift from physical card swipes to a voucher-based system for HDFC Bank debit cardholders.
- •The quarterly minimum spending requirement for most debit cards has doubled from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 to qualify for lounge access.
- •Eligible customers will receive an SMS/email with a link to claim a voucher (code/QR) after meeting the spend criteria, which must be presented at the lounge.
- •The Infiniti Debit Card remains exempt from the minimum spending condition, continuing to offer lounge access without a spend threshold.
- •Only purchases made directly with the HDFC Bank debit card count; ATM withdrawals, UPI, wallet payments, and EMI transactions are excluded.
Why It Matters: HDFC Bank introduces voucher-based lounge access and doubles minimum spend for debit cardholders from Jan 10.
