Tata Steel to Invest Rs 11,000 Crore in Jharkhand for Green Steel Tech
•Tata Steel will invest Rs 11,000 crore in Jharkhand to develop advanced green steel technology at its Jamshedpur facility.
•The new technology, pioneered by Tata Steel, aims for low carbon production, faster steel processing, and reduced carbon emissions.
•A commercial-scale facility with 1 million tonnes per annum capacity is planned for Jamshedpur by 2030, following successful pilot trials in the Netherlands.
•The investment includes Rs 7,000 crore for HISARNA and EASyMelt ironmaking technologies, Rs 1,500 crore for a Combi Mill, and Rs 2,600 crore for Tinplate expansion.
•Tata Motors will also invest in hydrogen trucks at Jamshedpur, and Tata Group will explore further investments in Jharkhand's development, skill enhancement, and CSR.
