Delhi: Old Diesel, Petrol Vehicles to be Seized Without Notice

• Delhi's transport department will now seize 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles without prior notice.
• This rule applies to vehicles whether they are running on the road or parked, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
• Seized vehicles will be sent directly for scrap, with no legal way to retrieve them or obtain an NOC afterward.
• The move aims to reduce pollution from old BS-3 and lower standard engines, which contribute significantly to Delhi's toxic fumes.
• Vehicle owners can obtain an NOC to transfer their old vehicles to states outside Delhi-NCR before seizure.
