World's Largest Shivling Installed at Virat Ramayan Mandir Today

• The world's largest Sahastralingam Shivling, 33 feet tall and weighing 210 tons, was installed today at Virat Ramayan Mandir in Kaithwalia, East Champaran district, Bihar.
• Along with the Shivling, 1072 deities were also established, with rituals performed by 21 priests amidst Vedic chants.
• January 17 was chosen for the installation due to Chaturdashi Tithi, considered auspicious for Lord Shiva, and its proximity to Mahashivratri.
• The Shivling, made of black granite and featuring 1008 smaller Shivlings, was constructed over 10 years in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, at a cost of approximately 3 crore rupees.
• CM Nitish Kumar participated in the installation ceremony, which included a Havan and offerings of a 20 kg garland and 3250 kg of flowers.
