World's Largest Sahasralingam Shivling Installed in Bihar's East Champaran
- •The world's largest Sahasralingam Shivling, 33 feet tall and weighing 210 tons, was installed today at the Virat Ramayan Temple in Kaithwalia, East Champaran district, Bihar.
- •The Shivling, carved from black granite with 1008 smaller Shivlings, took 10 years and approximately 3 crore rupees to create in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu.
- •The installation ceremony included the placement of 1072 deities and was attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
- •The auspicious Chaturdashi Tithi of Magh month, considered Shivratri, was chosen for the installation, exactly one month before Mahashivratri.
- •A 20 kg garland of flowers, belpatra, and dhatura was offered, with 3250 kg of flowers used for temple decoration sourced from Kolkata and Cambodia.
