PM Modi launches Shillong-Silchar Corridor, multiple projects in North-East

• PM Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan for the Shillong-Silchar Corridor, North-East's first access-controlled Greenfield four-lane High-Speed Corridor.
• The 166 km corridor, costing Rs 22,860 crore, will cut Guwahati-Silchar travel time from 8.5 to 5 hours, boosting regional connectivity and trade.
• Also laid foundation for an elevated corridor on NH-306 in Silchar and a new College of Agriculture at Patharkandi, Karimganj district.
• Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the state's resolve to become strong as India moves towards a developed nation.
• PM Modi recently inaugurated projects worth over Rs 4,570 crore in Kokrajhar and Rs 19,577.58 crore in Guwahati, also handing over land ownership to tea workers.
