BHU-AIIMS Doctors Uncover World-First Alzheimer's Treatment, Clinical Trials Begin
•
IIT-BHU and AIIMS doctors have developed a unique molecule, I-43, for early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
•
This molecule is the first worldwide to target both acetylcholinesterase and amyloid beta, offering a potential cure beyond symptomatic relief.
•
Developed by Dr. Gyan Prakash Modi (IIT-BHU) and validated at AIIMS New Delhi, animal testing was conducted at NII.
•
The molecule can detect Alzheimer's early, block the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, prevent amyloid beta formation, and acts as an antioxidant.
•
Pre-clinical trials are complete, a patent secured via ICMR, and clinical trials are now underway for this groundbreaking discovery.
