Railway Minister Unveils Secret Plan to Fortify Border Against Pakistan
•Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a strategic plan to extend train lines to border points, strengthening infrastructure and connectivity.
•The initiative aims to deter Pakistan from crossing the border and neutralize terrorists approaching the area.
•Projects include survey work for Baramulla-Uri, Qazigund-Badgam, and Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch connectivity in J&K.
•Indian Railways is also improving logistics along the India-Pakistan border in northern and western regions, including Anupgarh-Khajuwala and Jaisalmer-Barmer-Bhildi.
•New railway tracks like Anupgarh-Bikaner (187 km, Rs 2277 crore) and Jaisalmer-Bhabhar via Barmer (380 km) are under development, significantly reducing army and supply transit times to the border.
