KAVACH 4.0 Expands: Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah Routes Get Advanced Safety Tech
- •Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed KAVACH 4.0 is operational on 738 km of tracks, covering Palwal–Mathura–Nagda (633 km) and Howrah–Bardhaman (105 km) sections.
- •KAVACH 4.0 is an automatic train protection system that controls speed and applies brakes to prevent accidents, enhancing safety even in adverse weather.
- •New features include precise location, better signal information in large yards, station connectivity via optical fiber, and direct link to electronic interlocking.
- •Installation is underway on 15,512 km of Golden Quadrilateral, Golden Diagonal, and busy routes, with significant progress in infrastructure and locomotive fitting.
- •Over ₹2354 crore has been spent on KAVACH, with ₹1673 crore allocated for 2025-26, and extensive training provided to staff and loco pilots.
