Supreme Court Grants Major Relief to OBC UPSC Candidates on Creamy Layer Rule
•
Supreme Court rules income over ₹8 lakh doesn't automatically mean Creamy Layer for OBC candidates if parents are in Group IV government jobs.
•
Agricultural income is excluded from Creamy Layer calculation; only 'other sources' income (business, property) considered for the ₹8 lakh limit.

Invalidates paragraph 9 of the 2004 Ministry of Personnel letter; salary alone from bank or private jobs will not be considered Creamy Layer.
